As we arrive in Portmagee, the anticipation of our impending voyage fills the air with excitement. Pre-booking our seats on the passenger ferry, we eagerly boarded the vessel, and our motorcycles were safely parked on solid ground. With the wind in our hair and the salty spray of the Atlantic on our faces, we set sail towards the distant silhouette of Sceilg Mhichíl, its rugged cliffs beckoning us closer with each passing wave.

Arriving at the island’s shores, we’re greeted by the sight of 500 ancient stone steps winding their way up the steep cliffs, leading us towards the heart of this sacred sanctuary. With each step, the whispers of ancient monks echo in the air, guiding us towards the stone beehive huts, holy wells, and ornate crosses that dot the landscape. Pausing to catch our breath, we’re treated to the sight of vibrant puffins soaring overhead, their colourful plumage a testament to the island’s thriving seabird colonies.
